The people of Lanzarote are desperate to welcome you back!
From 1st July, tourists will be allowed to enter Spain with no quarantine restrictions and with the freedom to enjoy a holiday. Airlines are planning to fly to the island from July. You could bag yourself a post-lockdown getaway!
Specifically Lanzarote has been progressing very well in the fight against Covid-19. At the time of writing, the island has been without infections within the island for more than a month and a half (since 24th April, only three cases have been confirmed and all were "imported" having travelled from outside the island) (any suspected cases are tested immediately).
The Canaries have reported some of the lowest Covid-19 cases in Europe and are seen as a very safe place to be. Lanzarote now has the lowest number of active cases (population-adjusted) of the five biggest Canary Islands.
Currently bars and restaurants can open with limitations, but most are waiting for the arrivals of travellers to re-open their doors, as the island quickly moves through the de-escalation phases set out by the Spanish government.
