Seaside Capital
Arrecife is the administrative and commercial centre of Lanzarote, but as a seaside capital it still has plenty of leisure to enjoy. Increasingly in recent years, Arrecife as a tourist destination has grown in popularity to experience an authentic Lanzarote and it’s not hard to see why.
Growth in rental apartments means tourists can now enjoy the delights of Arrecife more closely. Previously many people only passed the capital arriving by boat (in the winter many cruise liners stop at Arrecife), now it’s not just firmly on the map but becoming a great destination.
A seaside capital needs a great beach and Arrecife doesn’t disappoint. The long, sandy beach of El Reducto is a piece of natural beauty with the backdrop of the famous Gran Hotel.
