For returning to the UK, you only need an antigen test for your pre-departure test. You can do this in the two days before your flight departs.
Do not pay for a PCR test for this. It's unnecessary and much slower.
An antigen test is the same as a lateral flow test (such as the NHS home testing kits).
Children aged 11 and under do not need to take this test.

The Centro Commercial Papagayo is the place to go in Playa Blanca. It's located near Playa Dorada (beach). Here's a link to it from the car park end: click here
When you go for a test, make sure you take your passport.

There are two options at the Papagayo Centre. Both are €20 each for the antigen test.
International Clinic
Open 08:00 - 14:00 Monday to Sunday for walk-ins.
This is two units in on your left as you enter the centre from the car park.
Deutsche Britisch Clinic
Open 09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday for walk-ins.
Open 09:00 to 13:00 Sundays for walk-ins.
It is up the first set of stairs from the car park and immediately on your right.
